We pride ourselves on safety, efficiency, and teamwork to ensure successful project completion. Job Summary Frank W. Whitcomb Construction Corp. (FWWCC) is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our team. We are a well-established construction company with extensive operations in highway construction and aggregate production, including our own rock quarry. This position will support a wide variety of welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance needs throughout our construction and quarry operations. We are looking for a skilled, dependable individual who can work independently, troubleshoot problems, and fabricate or repair equipment and components to keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Duties Perform MIG, stick, and/or other welding processes as required. Fabricate, modify, and repair construction equipment, quarry equipment, steel structures, chutes, bins, guards, frames, and other components. Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment and quarry/aggregate processing equipment. Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and basic fabrication plans. Identify problems and determine practical repair or fabrication solutions. Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and other metalworking tasks. Work with a variety of steel and other metals. Safely operate welding and fabrication equipment, torches, grinders, saws, and related tools. Work both in the shop and in the the quarry. Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company safety procedures. Work independently while coordinating with mechanics, operators, supervisors, and other members of the construction team. Perform other welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance duties as needed. Qualifications Several years of welding and fabrication experience required. Strong knowledge of welding and metal fabrication techniques. Experience working with heavy equipment, construction equipment, or quarry/aggregate equipment is a plus. Ability to fabricate and repair components with limited supervision. Ability to read measurements and work accurately from drawings or verbal instructions. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when field repairs are required. Valid driver's license required. Welding certifications are a plus, but not required for the right candidate. This is a diverse position where no two days are necessarily the same. The successful candidate will have the ability to look at a piece of equipment or a fabrication problem, determine what needs to be done, and get the job done safely and correctly. Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience and qualifications. Company Vehicle is included with this position.
