This individual plays a vital role in the musical life of the church and collaborates closely with the Lead Pastor and Choir Director. This is a year-round, part-time position with a salaried compensation structure. Regular attendance is expected for Sunday worship services, weekly rehearsals, and special services throughout the liturgical year. Key Responsibilities Provide piano accompaniment for: Weekly Sunday worship services 8:45 AM
7:30 PM, August through May Additional rehearsals as scheduled, including seasonal productions (e.
g., Christmas Cantata) Accompany congregational hymns during traditional services Perform for special services, including (but not limited to): Christmas Eve Ash Wednesday Good Friday Easter Prepare rehearsal recordings for choir members as needed Occasionally, provide prelude and/or postlude music for services upon request Collaborate with the Choir Director and church staff to ensure high-quality musical experiences Qualifications & Skills Experience in church worship settings (preferred) Familiarity with playing out of church hymnals Ability to perform in blended worship styles (traditional and contemporary) Strong sight-reading skills and ability to play: Open-score choral parts Lead sheets and chord charts Basic knowledge of music theory, including transposition and reharmonization Commitment to consistent rehearsal preparation and etiquette Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and respond to direction Accountability & Expectations Reports directly to the Choir Director Must provide at least three weeks' notice for planned absences (earlier preferred) to allow for substitute arrangements Remain professional by being prompt and on time to rehearsals and services Maintains responsibility for the proper use and basic care of the church piano Professional Conduct & Collaboration To maintain a positive and professional environment, the following expectations apply:

Concerns or disagreements should be addressed privately with appropriate individuals, not in front of church members
Rehearsal Commitment:
Rehearsals should utilize the full scheduled time. Any conflicts must be communicated in advance
Collaborative Structure:
While multiple leaders contribute to the music program, the Choir Director maintains final decision-making authority to support the overall vision
