Position Specifics :

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, hybrid position located in Brattleboro, VT. The VABIR Career Coach (VCC) is responsible for providing case management, resource navigation, and employment support services to Reach Up participants assigned to their caseload. The VCC supports Reach Up participants in identifying and working toward their employment goals while coordinating services and maintaining communication with referral sources and other partners. The VCC performs work in offices and communities where VABIR employment services are provided. The position collaborates and works locally as a team with other Career Coaches, Reach Up staff, and staff from partner organizations. This position reports directly to the Program Manager, who provides training, guidance, support and performance management through consistent communication and regular meetings. Reach Up is a State of Vermont program which helps low-income families with minor, dependent children to set and reach short and long-term goals that will support financial stability. Reach Up joins families on their journey to overcome obstacles, explore opportunities, improve their finances, and reach their goals. Duties and Responsibilities Implement the vision and mission of VABIR and Reach Up. Maintain a caseload and provide individualized support and assistance to a diverse group of clients within a vulnerable local population Provide case management services to clients in identifying goals, addressing barriers, accessing appropriate resources and services, and progressing toward employment and career goals. Develop and maintain an understanding of each client's strengths, needs, barriers, goals, and progress to provide coordinated and individualized support with an emphasis on increasing financial stability Effectively utilize job search tools and resources to assist clients with their employment goals, including progressive employment, community service placements, group activities, and other appropriate strategies. Assist in the development of client résumés, interviewing skills, and job-seeking skills. Assist clients in identifying education and training goals, and connect them with appropriate resources and local opportunities. Maintain timely case notes and documentation of client activities, goals, progress, services, barriers, and outcomes. Ensure timely data entry in various State of Vermont and VABIR systems. Complete monthly reports related to client participation, goals, activities, and progress. Attend local Workforce Partner meetings to understand labor market needs, job openings, and employer hiring practices Coordinate services and maintain communication with referral sources, community partners, and other providers to support client progress and continuity of services. Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, team members, community partners, and employers. Serve as a liaison with the Reach-Up Program and other organizations. Maintain accountability to local office teams and clients regarding goal progress, work activities, schedules, and work assignments. Implement best practices in caseload management, case management, and service delivery. Remain accountable for VCC performance measures and outcomes. Participate in continuous improvement and training activities with Reach Up and VABIR, sometimes at offsite locations. Participating in VABIR, Reach Up, HireAbility, Workforce Partners and other meetings as appropriate. Maintain proper etiquette while participating in virtual meetings, including Zoom and Teams. May attend business functions, tours, or meetings related to work. Other duties as required.
