Branford, CT Job Details Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications CPR Certification Full Job Description Part-Time Nanny Needed in Branford, CT — 24 Hours per Week We are seeking a warm, dependable, and engaging nanny to care for our son, who turns 4 in February. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with preschool-aged children and can provide a nurturing environment filled with meaningful play, learning, and opportunities to build independence. We are looking for someone who will take an active role in his day, follow a consistent routine, and plan activities that support his curiosity, creativity, and development.

Schedule:

Thursday:

8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Friday:

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Saturday:

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Total:

24 hours per week.

Compensation:

$20-$25 per hour, based on experience, education, and relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Provide attentive supervision and prioritize the child's safety and well-being. Plan fun, age-appropriate educational activities through play, including reading, puzzles, building, arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play. Incorporate early learning into everyday activities, such as counting, recognizing colors and shapes, and exploring nature. Encourage language development, problem-solving, positive social skills, and independence. Support daily routines, including meals, snacks, handwashing, toileting, and rest as needed. Prepare simple meals and snacks for the child and clean up afterward. Provide opportunities for outdoor play and walks to the park, weather permitting. Assist with light cleaning related to the child's day, including putting away toys, organizing play spaces, and cleaning activity and eating areas. Communicate with parents about the day's activities, meals, routines, and any concerns.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a nanny, childcare provider, or preschool educator, preferably with children of a similar age. Current CPR certification. A patient, nurturing approach and an understanding of age-appropriate expectations. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability for the full weekly schedule. Ability to plan engaging activities and remain actively involved throughout the day. Strong communication skills and respect for family routines and preferences. Relevant childcare references. Education or coursework in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is a plus.

Driving:

No driving the child will be required initially. Outings will include walks to the park.
