Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various living environments. This vital role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia or neurodevelopmental support. The ideal candidate will be proactive, attentive, and committed to enhancing quality of life through personalized care and attentive support. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Administer medications following prescribed care plans and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Support clients during outings or appointments by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safety throughout travel. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and adherence to infection control protocols. Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a trusting relationship that respects residents' rights and dignity. Requirements Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's care), memory care, hospice care, and caring for individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Ability to perform manual handling tasks and operate patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts safely. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or medication administration are a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Experience working with residents' rights policies and understanding of care plans tailored to individual needs.
