Job Summary Live-in Caregiver in Woodmere, NY - Long term
- Full time, 7 days per week
- Valid driver's license & clean MV record is required!
- (Client has a vehicle the caregiver can use if you do not have your own or are not comfortable using yours.) Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming -- as needed
- Client is still highly independent but needs cueing. Mobility support as needed
- Experiences vertigo & sciatica so needs standby assistance.
Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes in condition to healthcare professionals. Administer medication reminders as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Maintain cleanliness of the living environment, including light housekeeping tasks. Support clients with memory care, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia, ensuring their comfort and safety. Document care provided and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Experience Previous experience in home health, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred. Familiarity with first aid, CPR, and basic nursing skills is advantageous. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor changes in client conditions effectively. Skills in meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment are essential.
- Cooking lovers a PLUS+++ Interest in gardening and even minor experience gardening is a PLUS+++ The client has a beautiful backyard garden she can no longer manage.
