OVERNIGHTS IN NORFOLK

4 - 5 Nights a week / Rotating weekends Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide overnight support for individuals in a residential care setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during nighttime hours. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. This position is vital for supporting residents with diverse needs, including those requiring memory care, dementia support, or assistance with daily activities. Responsibilities Monitor residents' safety and well-being throughout the overnight shift, including observing for any signs of distress or health issues Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in accordance with care plans Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility assistance and transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts Administer medication following prescribed protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness Conduct regular vital signs checks and monitor residents' health status, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff or supervisors Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control procedures Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's support, and memory care practices Ability to assist with ADLs such as feeding, personal hygiene, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling or Hoyer lift operation is advantageous Familiarity with resident's rights, medication administration protocols, HIPAA compliance, and patient monitoring procedures Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members while respecting confidentiality and privacy standards Join us in providing compassionate overnight care that enhances the quality of life for our residents.
