The Case Aide works closely with a team of Case Planners and Director of Social Service to ensure all responsibilities are carried out. The work is demanding, highly interactive and diversified and therefore requires flexibility. The case aide must be sensitive to the rights, feelings, needs and cultural background of each client and responsive to such in a non-judgmental manner.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise sibling and/or family visits. These visits will take place on campus or in the community. Assist caseworkers with service referrals, home assessments, obtaining documentation such as consents and vital documents. Provide counseling and crisis intervention to children and families. Assist supervisor with department paperwork and scheduling. Schedule and accompany residents to DMV and other community appointments Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree. Experience with I/DD population preferred Valid NYS Driver's License Strong computer skills preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires occasional flexibility in hours to accommodate family visits, service plan reviews and crisis intervention. Agency vehicles are available for driving, subject to DMV check of caseworker's driving record. #nassaucampaign
