Family Services has a full- time position available for a highly self-motivated individual who can function independently as well as in a team environment. We are seeking a Housing Locator for our new Rapid Re-Housing program. You will have the opportunity to use your communication, participant engagement, case management and organizational skills serving as a Housing Locator. This position is integral in providing specialized support for program participants who are in need of safe and secure housing. We are looking for an individual who can engage and communicate with program participants and landlords from diverse backgrounds in order to secure housing. The Housing Locator will assist those entering Rapid Re-Housing to complete the intake process, locate a housing unit that fits their budget, and to successfully move-in. The Housing Locator will work closely with landlords, utility companies and other community stakeholders in order to help individuals to secure and maintain housing. Within the limits of the participant's income, Rapid Re-Housing helps households access units that are desirable and sustainable—those that are in neighborhoods where they want to live, that have access to transportation, are close to employment, and that are safe. Strong outreach and engagement skills are key to success in this position as is the ability to provide responsive and timely services. Strong computer skills are necessary to enter program participants into an established database. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and a passion for preventing homelessness. Work with Intake Coordinators to complete and Initial Housing Assessment on each client during the application process, and confirm housing placement plan once the client is enrolled. A strong understanding of County Housing habitability standards, Fair Housing law, Pa Landlord/Tenant Act and Lead Paint laws and regulations and other housing related regulations as needed. Experience working with the housing market, sales & marketing, real estate or property is recommended. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field is preferred, but not required. This position is office-based, daytime hours, Monday-Friday. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance as outreach is needed in the Greater Pottstown/Western Montgomery County area.
