KPEP is a community based program providing both residential and non-residential services to male and female offenders. We have facilities in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Muskegon, Michigan. We are seeking therapists interested in a rewarding career working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The ideal candidate would have the ability to set firm boundaries while also creating a therapeutic alliance, and possess or are open to learning the unique dynamics associated with substance use disorders, sexual offending behaviors and entrenched criminal thinking. Experience with assessments and group and individual session facilitation is preferred.
Requirements:
Master's degree and professional counseling license required. MCBAP professional development plan within 6 months of hire. KPEP is a STAR approved facility. The STAR Loan Repayment Program will pay up to $250,000 to awardees in exchange for six years of full-time employment that involves direct treatment or recovery support of patients with or in recovery from a substance use disorder. Provide behavioral therapy and mental health counseling to individuals. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Implement crisis intervention strategies as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance client care. Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, to support client progress. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the field.
