Duties Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivate clients toward positive change Conduct crisis management and intervention to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety using trauma-informed techniques Assist clients with behavioral health challenges, including mental health counseling and addiction recovery strategies Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized recovery plans that incorporate harm reduction principles Maintain strict client confidentiality while documenting interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems Engage with culturally diverse communities to promote inclusive support services tailored to individual backgrounds and needs Mentor clients through the recovery process, offering guidance on coping skills, community resources, and self-advocacy Qualifications Valid certification as a Peer Support Specialist from an accredited organization or agency High School Diploma/GED, or Associates Degree Reliable transportation Valid Drive License Valid Vehicle Insurance Coverage Lived experience with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders is essential Demonstrated skills in crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health support Strong communication skills for effective client engagement and client advocacy Experience working with culturally diverse populations and understanding of cultural competence in mental health care Knowledge of addiction counseling, harm reduction strategies, and social work principles is highly desirable Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies Join us in making a difference!
