Full Job Description Job Title:
Part-Time Therapeutic Group Facilitator - Adult Mental Health Partial Care (Program hours Monday-Friday 8:45am-3:15pm)
Location:
Irvington, NJ Position Summary:
We are seeking an engaging and compassionate Therapeutic Group Facilitator to provide group-based services for adults enrolled in our Mental Health Partial Care Program, ( specifically for Monday & Friday availability along with one other day) . The facilitator will deliver structured group sessions that support skill development, symptom management, and emotional wellness for individuals living with mental health conditions . Applicant must have 8:30am-3:30 pm availability for requested days. (Opening 1. Monday and Wednesday 8:30am-4:30 pm. Opening 2. Mon-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm)
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate group sessions focused on topics such as: Coping skills Daily living strategies Emotional regulation Self-esteem Social and communication skills Mental health education Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive group environment. Adapt content to meet participants' individual needs and functional levels. Collaborate with clinical and support staff to align group content with treatment goals. Complete daily group documentation, attendance, and progress notes accurately and timely. Respond to client needs with empathy and professionalism; follow program protocols for safety and crisis intervention.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field. A minimum of two years of experience working or volunteering in a behavioral health, social service, or group setting is required. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort speaking to groups. Understanding of basic mental health concepts and recovery principles. Ability to model appropriate communication, boundaries, and coping strategies. Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively within a team. Must pass required background checks and meet agency credentialing requirements.
Master's Degree Tier:
A master's degree in a mental health, rehabilitation, or human services field requires no prior minimum years of experience to fulfill the baseline state standard.
Bachelor's Degree Tier:
A bachelor's degree requires a minimum of two years of experience in providing direct mental health services.
