This position is designed for a clinician who enjoys assessment, clinical decision-making, and helping clients connect quickly with the appropriate level of care. The therapist will generally complete up to eight assessments each week, with protected time provided after each assessment for documentation and treatment recommendations. The therapist will also participate in one evening IOP group each week. Preparation time will be built into the schedule before the group begins. This position does not require independent licensure. Qualified candidates who are working under clinical supervision are encouraged to apply.

11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Tuesday:

11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Wednesday:

12:00-9:00 p.m.

Thursday:

11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Friday:

12:00-4:00 p.m. The schedule includes one evening per week until 9:00 p.m. Primary Responsibilities Complete up to eight comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments each week. Evaluate clients' presenting concerns, symptoms, substance use, mental health history, safety risks, functioning, strengths, and treatment needs. Apply established clinical criteria and organizational guidelines when making treatment and level-of-care recommendations. Develop clear, individualized clinical recommendations based on each assessment. Complete assessment documentation accurately and within required timelines. Use the electronic health record to document assessments, recommendations, treatment activities, and other required clinical information. Assign clients to the appropriate therapist following the assessment when the recommended placement is clear. Refer uncertain or complex placement decisions to the Clinical Management Team for review. Explain treatment recommendations and next steps to clients in a clear, respectful, and supportive manner. Coordinate with clinical, intake, scheduling, authorization, and administrative staff to support a smooth transition into services. Prepare for and participate in one evening IOP group each week. Serve in the assigned IOP role and follow established responsibilities for the group leader, second clinician, or third team member. Provide trauma-informed, person-centered care to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use concerns. Identify and respond appropriately to safety concerns, including suicidal ideation, impairment, withdrawal risk, and other urgent clinical needs. Participate in individual clinical supervision and required staff training. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with

HIPAA, 42 CFR

Part 2, ethical standards, payer requirements, and The Morton Center's policies. Perform other clinically appropriate duties related to the position. Workload and Documentation Time The position is structured to include: Up to eight assessments per week One hour of protected documentation time following each assessment One evening IOP assignment per week One hour of preparation time before IOP Time for client coordination, consultation, supervision, training, and required administrative responsibilities Required Qualifications Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or another related behavioral health field Current Kentucky behavioral health license or associate-level credential that permits the individual to provide services under supervision Eligibility to provide mental health and/or substance use services within the scope of the candidate's Kentucky credential Experience or demonstrated interest in assessing and treating mental health and substance use disorders Ability to complete timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills Ability to work the full schedule, including Wednesday evening until 9:00 p.m. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences Preferred Qualifications Experience completing biopsychosocial, mental health, or substance use assessments Familiarity with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders Experience with intensive outpatient or group-based treatment Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and level-of-care recommendations Experience using an electronic health record Current Kentucky credentials such as CSW, LPCA, LCSW, LPCC, LCADCA, LCADC, LMFTA, or LMFT, as applicable to the services provided Experience working in a nonprofit or community behavioral health setting What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be able to build rapport quickly while still gathering detailed and accurate clinical information.
