If overnight hours don't work for your life right now, we appreciate your interest — this just isn't the right fit. Hope House is a long-term residential recovery program for women and their children in Augusta. Our campus runs 24 hours a day, and the overnight shift is one of the most important — and most autonomous — positions we hire for. You will be the steady presence on campus while residents and their children sleep. That means hourly room checks, safe sleep monitoring for infants and young children, responding to situations that arise without a full team around you, and holding the campus together through the night. You'll have on-call clinical support, but you need to be someone who can exercise real judgment on your own. This is not a sit-at-a-desk-and-watch-monitors job. It is an active, walking, observing, and responding role. What this job actually looks like: Conducting hourly room checks and monitoring safe sleep conditions for infants and children Walking the campus throughout the night to ensure safety and rule compliance Responding to resident needs and escalating situations with calm, sound judgment Enforcing program rules firmly and with dignity — even at 3am when someone pushes back Documenting the shift thoroughly so the day team has what they need Monitoring campus entry and exit; screening any after-hours visitors Reaching on-call clinical staff when situations require clinical judgment You'll be good at this if you: Are genuinely comfortable working overnights — not just willing to tolerate it Can hold authority calmly and independently without a team around you Stay alert and regulated through a long shift even when things are quiet Don't confuse kindness with permissiveness — you can hold a line while treating people with respect Have personal or professional experience that gives you genuine empathy for what recovery looks like
