Job Summary We are seeking dedicated Per Diem Youth Care Specialists to join our team in providing compassionate support and care to youth in our community. This role involves working with youth across various shifts, including day, evening, weekend, and overnight hours. Multiple positions are available, with a $2.00 differential for overnight or weekend shifts. The Youth Care Specialist will play a vital role in crisis intervention, maintaining resident confidentiality, and working with culturally diverse communities. Candidates must have at least one year of experience working directly with youth and possess strong de-escalation skills to support youth experiencing homelessness or other challenges. Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to youth in a safe and nurturing environment Engage in crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate challenging situations effectively Maintain strict confidentiality of resident information in accordance with privacy policies Work collaboratively with youth from diverse cultural backgrounds and communities Assist youth experiencing homelessness by addressing their immediate needs and connecting them to resources Implement de-escalation techniques to promote safety and positive outcomes Document interactions and incidents accurately and promptly Follow all program policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience working directly with youth is required High school diploma or GED is required; additional education in Human Services, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or related fields is preferred Experience working with homeless populations or individuals facing behavioral health challenges is highly desirable Familiarity with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques is essential Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and handle sensitive situations professionally Additional Requirements Must successfully pass required background, sexual offender registry, and Motor vehicle Division (MVD) background checks Must complete required agency and program training. Must have a valid driver's license and meet YSFS automobile insurance requirements. Must be over 21 years of age to meet minimum eligibility requirements of the agency's automobile insurance carrier. Per Diem Availability Per Diem employees provide coverage based on program and staffing needs. This position may be scheduled for day, evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, and emergency coverage . Per Diem employees are not guaranteed a minimum number of hours. Why Join YSFS?
