Substance Use Counselor - Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Facility We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and professional Substance Use Counselor to join our dedicated treatment team. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping individuals recover from opioid use disorder and committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive clinical environment. Position Summary The Substance Use Counselor provides individual counseling, assessments, case management, and treatment planning services for patients receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and substance use disorder services. This role works collaboratively with clinical and medical staff to support patients in achieving recovery goals and maintaining long-term stability. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and intake evaluations Provide individual counseling and supportive counseling services Assist patients in identifying triggers, barriers, strengths, and recovery goals Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans Provide case management and coordinate referrals for community resources and support services Maintain accurate, timely, and well-documented clinical case notes and patient records Monitor patient progress and participate in ongoing treatment planning Collaborate closely with the clinical and medical team to ensure coordinated patient care Support patients in relapse prevention, coping skills development, and recovery maintenance Maintain compliance with agency policies, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements Qualifications Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred Knowledge of opioid use disorder treatment and recovery principles Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills Ability to build rapport with patients while maintaining professional boundaries Compassionate, nonjudgmental, and patient-centered approach to care Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team Certified CADCI or above through GACA or ADACBGA.
