Substance Abuse Counselor First Base LLC Towson, MD Job Details Part-time | Contract $25 - $33 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Addiction counseling High school diploma or GED Organizational skills Full Job Description We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor (ADT) provides direct counseling services to individuals with substance use disorders under supervision. The SUD counselor will assist in the delivery of therapeutic interventions, recovery planning, and case management as part of a multidisciplinary team, in accordance with state regulations and agency policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to clients with substance use issues under supervision. Conduct intake assessments, screenings, and biopsychosocial evaluations. Develop and update individualized treatment plans with measurable goals. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal guidelines. Facilitate psychoeducational and relapse prevention groups. Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and external partners to coordinate client care. Monitor and report client progress to the supervising counselor or clinical supervisor. Participate in clinical supervision and staff development activities. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and professional codes of conduct. Qualifications Must possess a valid and active credentials in the state of Maryland through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred. Knowledge of addiction recovery models, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction approaches. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage a diverse caseload.
