About the position PC Repair Center is looking for a hands-on technician who can diagnose computer problems, complete dependable repairs, and keep customer work moving. You'll repair laptops and desktops, document your findings, and work with the front desk and owner to provide accurate customer updates. We're looking for someone who can work independently, troubleshoot systematically, and follow through. Building computers is helpful, but this position also requires experience identifying faults and repairing existing systems. Responsibilities Diagnostics and repairs

- Complete repairs within your skill level, including screens, batteries, SSDs, RAM, charging components, fans and cooling systems.
- Troubleshoot Windows, macOS, drivers, startup problems, malware and performance issues.
- Identify the correct replacement parts and document what is needed for approval and ordering.
- Install approved parts promptly when they arrive so repairs don't sit unnecessarily.
- Escalate difficult problems early, with clear notes on what you have already tested. Quality and customer data

- Perform backups, operating-system reinstalls and other data-affecting work only within the customer's approved scope. Never erase customer data without documented authorization.
- Refer all data-recovery jobs directly to the owner rather than attempting recovery independently.
- Protect customer information and handle devices, passwords and accessories carefully. Workflow and communication
- Work through the oldest tickets that are ready to proceed, unless the owner sets a different priority.
- Keep work orders moving and flag anything waiting on parts, approval, information or additional expertise.
- Update work-order notes as work progresses and complete them before leaving each day. Record tests, results, work completed, parts, blockers and the next step.
- Give the front desk enough information to communicate accurate progress and next steps to customers.
- Assist with customer questions and phone coverage when needed. Shop organization
- Keep your workbench clean and organized throughout the day and at closing.
- Label devices, screws, parts and accessories so nothing is misplaced or mixed between jobs.
- Help maintain a professional, clean shop and cooperate with the rest of the team. Qualifications

- Ability to explain your troubleshooting process and verify your work
