Information Technology Reports To:
IT Manager / Director of IT Company Overview Company is a growing hospitality company operating 26 full-service, table-service restaurant locations across 3 distinct restaurant concepts/brands. Our corporate office supports restaurant operations, finance, marketing, HR, and other business functions that keep all three brands running smoothly across every location. Position Summary We are seeking a Store/Restaurant Systems Support Engineer to provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for store and restaurant systems across our 26 locations, while occasionally traveling onsite to assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of store-level IT and restaurant systems. Because our restaurants operate across varying hours — including early breakfast service and late-night dinner service — this role requires flexibility to provide support outside of traditional office hours when store or system issues arise. This role also occasionally assists our Onsite Store Support Engineers with onsite maintenance, repair, and implementation work, as well as occasionally assisting the corporate office's Desktop Support Engineer with Tier 1-3 desktop support duties when needed. The ideal candidate is comfortable working hands-on with hardware and systems, troubleshooting remotely and onsite, and coordinating with restaurant management, corporate IT, and outside vendors across a flexible schedule. Key Responsibilities Level 2/3 Store & Restaurant Systems Support
  • Serve as an escalation point for Level 2 and Level 3 issues involving store-level systems, including POS terminals, kitchen display systems (KDS), payment/EMV processing hardware, back-office computers, networking equipment (routers, switches, access points), printers, and related peripherals
  • Diagnose and resolve complex or recurring store/restaurant systems issues that go beyond initial Tier 1 triage
  • Provide support aligned with restaurant operating hours as needed, including issues arising during breakfast service, dinner/late-night service, or off-hours maintenance windows
  • Work with system vendors as needed to resolve escalated issues, coordinate repairs, or manage warranty/support claims
  • Identify trends in recurring store issues and recommend proactive fixes or system improvements
  • Support new system implementations and rollouts, including new hardware deployments, system upgrades, and technology rollouts tied to new store openings, remodels, or brand-wide initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records of support activity, root causes, and resolutions per location Occasional Onsite Store & Restaurant Systems Support
  • Occasionally travel to restaurant locations across all 3 concepts to perform onsite installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of store-level systems when remote resolution isn't possible or hands-on work is required
  • Assist with scheduled/ongoing preventive maintenance (system updates, hardware checks, cabling, cleaning, firmware updates) as needed, which may occur during off-peak hours (early morning or late evening) to minimize disruption to restaurant operations
  • Assist with deferred maintenance and repair work — addressing backlogged or non-urgent issues that don't require an emergency response but still need onsite attention
  • Coordinate with restaurant management to schedule onsite visits around each location's specific operating hours, including breakfast or late-dinner service windows
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues onsite, minimizing downtime for restaurant operations Occasional Collaboration with Onsite Store Support Engineers
  • Occasionally assist Onsite Store Support Engineers on multi-person projects, larger rollouts, or locations requiring additional coverage
  • Share knowledge of recurring issues, fixes, and best practices across the store support team
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of store-level hardware, spare parts, and equipment across all locations Occasional Backup Desktop Support (Corporate Office)
  • Occasionally provide backup Tier 1-3 desktop support to corporate office personnel, covering for or assisting the Desktop Support Engineer during high-volume periods, absences, or overflow
  • Assist with corporate workstation/laptop imaging, configuration, and troubleshooting (Windows, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) when called upon
  • Support onboarding/offboarding tasks and general help desk ticket resolution as time allows General
  • Log all support activity, maintenance work, and tickets in the ticketing system
  • Escalate issues requiring specialized vendor support or engineering-level troubleshooting to the appropriate internal team or external vendor
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the systems and vendor differences across all 3 restaurant concepts, including differing operating hours by location
  • Follow safety and operational protocols when working in live kitchen and restaurant environments
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge base articles for store-level systems and procedures Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in IT systems support, field support, or a similar technical support role, with demonstrated experience handling escalated (Level 2/3) support issues
  • Willingness and flexibility to occasionally provide support outside standard business hours, including early mornings or evenings, based on restaurant operating hours
  • Comfortable working with POS systems, networking equipment, or other in-store technology (restaurant-specific experience not required, but general retail/POS/networking hardware experience is helpful)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally between the corporate office and restaurant locations (mileage/travel reimbursement per company policy)
  • Ability to work hands-on with hardware, cabling, and basic network configuration
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues both remotely and onsite
  • Comfortable working in a live restaurant/kitchen environment when onsite visits are required
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with restaurant staff, corporate IT, and vendors
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment and work in varied physical environments (kitchens, back offices, storage areas) during onsite visits
  • Basic familiarity with Windows OS, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 for occasional desktop support coverage Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience supporting restaurant or hospitality-specific systems (POS platforms, kitchen display systems, payment/EMV terminals, back-office/inventory management software)
  • Experience with multi-location or multi-brand retail/restaurant support
  • Networking certifications (Network+, CCNA, etc.) or relevant IT certifications (A+, etc.)
