Job Description Insight Global is seeking a SQL Data Management Analyst for a top financial services client. This position will focus heavily on hands-on SQL development, data extraction, transformation, analysis, and back-end data quality. The ideal candidate will have advanced SQL capabilities and experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple source systems.

This individual will write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, aggregate, and refine data while ensuring that downstream reporting and analytical solutions are supported by accurate, high-quality data. They will investigate data discrepancies, perform reconciliation and root-cause analysis, establish data quality controls, and support metadata and data lineage requirements.

The candidate will also collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, and project management to gather requirements, refine Agile stories, test data solutions, and ensure data is accurately implemented for operational scorecards and executive reporting. While experience with Tableau and other visualization tools is beneficial, this role is primarily focused on SQL, databases, data quality, and back-end data management rather than front-end dashboard development.

Day-to-Day

• Write complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from enterprise databases
• Pull data from multiple source systems and combine it into usable datasets
• Use SQL to clean, transform, refine, aggregate, and prepare data for downstream consumption
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, correlations, and data quality issues
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Investigate data discrepancies and conduct root-cause analysis
• Develop and maintain data quality controls
• Ensure data feeding dashboards, executive scorecards, and operational reporting is accurate
• Work with development teams to understand source data, database structures, and downstream data requirements
• Support data transformation, metadata, and data lineage processes
• Identify gaps in data management standards and partner with appropriate teams on remediation
• Gather and document business and technical data requirements
• Contribute to Agile story refinement and acceptance criteria
• Develop and execute test cases for data-related changes
• Analyze integration and regression test results and troubleshoot data-related issues
• Partner with Project Management and technology teams on releases and deployments
• Monitor KPIs and internal data controls
• Support operational and executive-level reporting
• Communicate data issues, findings, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders Skills and Requirements
• 5+ years of Data Management, Data Analysis, SQL Development, or related experience
• Advanced, hands-on SQL skills
• Ability to write complex SQL queries from scratch
• Strong experience using SQL to extract data from databases
• Experience manipulating, refining, transforming, and aggregating data using SQL
• Experience working with large and complex datasets
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures
• Experience combining and reconciling data from multiple source systems
• Strong data quality, data validation, and data integrity experience
• Ability to identify data discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis
• Experience with data transformation and data quality controls
• Understanding of metadata and data lineage
• Experience gathering and documenting data/business requirements
• Experience with Agile methodology and JIRA
• Experience designing and executing test cases, including integration and regression testing
• Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills
