This role ensures that technology systems, digital tools, and data practices advance the district's mission, enhance teaching and learning, improve operational efficiency, and safeguard organizational data.
The Director serves as a key member of the leadership team, aligning technology initiatives with instructional priorities, business operations, and long-term strategic goals.
Core Responsibilities1. Leadership and VisionDevelop and articulate a clear vision for the use of technology to support teaching, learning, and district operationsCollaborate with district leadership to align technology initiatives with strategic goalsLead organizational change management related to digital transformation 2. Strategic PlanningDevelop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive district technology planAlign technology investments with instructional and operational prioritiesEstablish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate effectiveness3. Instructional Leadership & Professional LearningPartner with curriculum and instructional leaders to integrate technology into teaching and learningSupport innovative instructional practices and personalized learningDesign and oversee ongoing, job-embedded professional development for staff 4. Technology Operations & InfrastructureOversee all IT systems, including: Network infrastructureDevices and lifecycle managementEnterprise systems and applicationsSystem Ownership and Implementation of Vector in partnership with the Assistant Superintendent and the Director of Curriculum 5. Data Management, Privacy, and SecurityEstablish and maintain systems for data collection, analysis, and reportingEnsure compliance with all applicable data privacy laws and regulationsImplement cybersecurity frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, CIS)6. Communication SystemsOversee and improve digital communication platforms and systemsEnsure communication tools are effective, secure, and compliantSupport stakeholder engagement through technology7. Team Leadership and Capacity BuildingBuild, lead, and evaluate a high-performing technology teamFoster a collaborative, transparent, and service-oriented cultureDevelop staff capacity through coaching and professional growth8.
