POSITION PURPOSE

The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and monitoring the organization's server, virtualization, cloud, and Microsoft infrastructure environments. This role assists in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems while providing operational support to end users and IT teams. The Systems Administrator works closely with senior team members to implement technology solutions, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system availability. It will also act as a technical escalation point and will train and mentor the Service Desk support teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Nutanix virtual machines and virtualization infrastructure. Administer and maintain Windows Server environments. Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and print services. Help manage Microsoft 365 administration and automatization tasks. Assists manage Cloud infrastructure. Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability. Assist with system patching, software deployments, and maintenance activities. Troubleshoot server, application, and infrastructure issues. Assist with backup and recovery operations and periodic testing. Maintain system documentation, procedures, and inventory records. Participate in infrastructure projects and technology upgrades. Follow security policies and assist with vulnerability remediation efforts. Provide technical support and guidance to Service Desk personnel. Escalate complex issues to Senior Systems Administrators when necessary. Participate in on-call rotation as required. Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. 2-4 years of Systems Administration experience or equivalent IT infrastructure experience. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments. Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Basic to intermediate experience with Nutanix or similar virtualization platforms. Experience with Microsoft 365 administration. Experience with Cloud administration, Azure or AWS. Experience with system backups and recovery processes. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting is preferred but not required Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CISCO, or CompTIA are beneficial but not required.
