The ideal candidate is comfortable working across hardware and software boundaries and can contribute to mixed-signal circuit design, PCB development, FPGA-based systems, embedded firmware, hardware integration, and troubleshooting. The engineer will have the opportunity to work across the full system, including hardware, FPGA and firmware, system interfaces, APIs, and application software. We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how the entire system works and solving problems that may span multiple areas of the design.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Support the design, development, testing, and validation of embedded data acquisition systems.
  • Design and troubleshoot analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics, including hardware interfaces and communication systems.
  • Develop embedded firmware and software in C/C++ for system control, data acquisition, diagnostics, and communication.
  • Develop, modify, and integrate FPGA IP using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Design and implement data flow between FPGA programmable logic, processors, peripherals, and external devices.
  • Support PCB schematic development, layout, component selection, design reviews, bring-up, and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and integrate ADCs, sensors, peripherals, and other electronic components based on system requirements.
  • Develop and troubleshoot Ethernet-based and other hardware communication interfaces.
  • Support full-system integration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, APIs, and application software. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience developing, integrating, or troubleshooting embedded electronic systems.
  • Practical experience with PCB design, layout, component selection, and hardware bring-up.
  • Experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
  • Experience with FPGA-based systems and an understanding of FPGA development fundamentals.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot hardware using standard laboratory equipment.
  • Experience integrating system peripherals and hardware interfaces.
  • Familiarity with Git-based development workflows. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the AMD Xilinx development ecosystem and FPGA design workflow.
  • Experience developing FPGA IP using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with high-speed or high-throughput data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with Ethernet communication, network protocols, or real-time data streaming.
  • Experience designing mixed-signal electronics involving ADCs, sensors, or instrumentation.
  • Experience developing automated hardware test and diagnostic systems.
  • Experience working across embedded hardware, firmware, APIs, and application software.
