123JUNK

Senior Lead Non-CDL Truck Driver / Junk Removal Specialist

Job Description

123JUNK | Maryland (Gaithersburg)Full-Time | 5-Day Workweek | Salary + Performance-Based Pay Our Senior Leads have one charter To lead others to success. Our Preferred Candidate Senior Leads should have first hand knowledge and experience of inner workings of the junk removal industry and what it takes to be successful. They need to be able to apply mentoring, coaching, and tradecraft techniques to ensure that their colleagues can thrive at the highest levels to ensure their own success as well as the success of the company.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a physical, customer-facing field leadership position. You'll drive our trucks, work alongside a team, serve customers, solve complex problems relating to customer experience and tradecraft obstacles, and see the result of your work every single day. You'll also have junior leadership responsibilities. You'll coach and develop team members daily, perform semi-annual performance reviews of team members, set the standard in the field, address performance and team issues, and help shape a culture where people know what's expected and are motivated to deliver. You'll have a direct interface with senior leadership, bringing insights and feedback from the field while helping shape the policies and decisions that impact our teams. You'll have a real voice in defining and shaping the future of the company. If you're competitive, outgoing, don't mind getting your hands dirty, are comfortable holding people accountable, and want to work somewhere you can actually grow into leadership, keep reading. Get Paid to Exercise This is not a driving job where you spend your entire day sitting behind the wheel. You'll be moving. Couches. Furniture. Appliances. Household goods. Construction debris. And plenty of things that don't fit neatly into a category. For the right person, that's part of the appeal. Work 5 Days The Senior Lead position requires five shifts per week, with most team members working roughly 40 - 50 hours per week. We're closed Sundays. Your other workdays can vary, and whenever possible, we give our team flexibility in designing a schedule that works for their lives. Want additional shifts? There are often opportunities to pick them up. Saturday availability is required. Your Performance Actually Matters to Your Pay This is a salaried position with a base rate of $42,000 per year that comes with all the privileges and responsibilities of such a position. However, there's a 10 week training period where you're introduced to company policies, procedures, and ethos. This is to ensure that you've been equipped with all the knowledge and tools to be successful at 123JUNK. Everyone begins as a Navigator at $15/hour base pay for 3 weeks. The next 5 weeks will be spent as a Truck Operator at $15.50/hour. The final two weeks are spent as a Lead at $16/hour. But base pay is only part of how our Fleet Team earns. We've built a performance-based compensation system that rewards the things that make our company successful: productivity, sales, customer experience, leadership, teamwork and individual performance. High performers frequently earn $10-$15+ per hour above their base wage, with our highest performers exceeding $18/hour above base. You are still eligible for all additional performance based compensation once graduating to the Senior Lead position. Time to Get Real The work is physically demanding. You'll work when it's hot. You'll work when it's cold. Sometimes you'll work in the rain. Your schedule isn't perfectly predictable every day. A job can take longer than expected. Traffic happens. Customers add things. And yes, you're going to become familiar with the local dump. The people who are built for this kind of work tend to really enjoy it! There's strong team camaraderie. You're outside. You're moving. Time goes fast. Every day is different. You're trusted to do your job. And at the end of the day, you can look at what your team accomplished and know you actually did something. Requirements Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy items, including items weighing 100+ pounds with team assistance when appropriate Saturday availability Professional attitude and strong customer service instincts Continuous learning mindset Willingness to be accountable and hold others accountable Ability to have critical, constructive conversations that address performance and behavioral concerns and drive improvement Customer experience skills, including respect and empathy for customers Ability to obtain DoT medical certification Motivating and upbeat attitude Benefits PTO Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) with company match Performance-based earning opportunities Cash tips Clear opportunities for advancement No CDL required No Sundays No desk required About 123JUNK 123JUNK is a reputable, independent junk removal company headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia.
