Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Field Transportation Specialist (FTS) is responsible for picking up, moving, or delivering medical equipment to and from specified medical facilities. While on-site, the driver is in charge of loading, unloading, wrapping, and packing medical equipment. Weekly routes typically require FTS to be on the road and out of state 3-4 days out of the week, where they will be staying overnight in hotels. The other day(s) would be designated for local routes or assisting in the warehouse with shipping and receiving duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate a 26 ft box truck with a liftgate to pick up, move, and deliver medical equipment. Maintain DOT compliance, including carrying a valid DOT medical card, stopping at all required weigh stations, and being prepared for full DOT inspections at all times. Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record. Complete pre & post-trip truck inspections, documenting any truck damage or malfunctions and reporting concerns to Logistics Manager. Adhere to assigned routes and arrive on schedule to appointments, notifying management and corresponding on-site contact of any delays. Utilize equipment list/pictures provided to confirm items being picked up, moved, or delivered prior to appointment and confirm with on-site customer prior to completion. Consult management on missing, damaged, or additional items received. Wrap, pack, load, secure, transport, and unload items safely using pallet jack, rachet straps, dollies, and other necessary tools to prevent damage. Act as a reLink Medical company representative while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. Establish positive customer relationships to ensure satisfaction with completed service. Follow established safety protocol while operating vehicles, working in the field, and in the warehouse. Upload business purchase receipts to Sage account daily and submit monthly expense reports. Complete weekly asset cleaning and organization of work area. Assist with other FTS-related projects as directed by the Logistics or Warehouse Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma. Valid Non-CDL Ohio Driver's License meeting driving requirements. Two (2) years of 26 ft. box truck driving experience required. Two (2) years of experience packing and completing shipment process. Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Possess strong time management and customer service skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, etc. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside. Must be able to travel by flight when needed. Required ability to push, pull, sit for extended periods of time, stand, crouch, reach, and have visual acuity. Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work :
This job operates Monday through Friday, flexing between first and occasionally second shift and completing overtime as required. This position may drive up to 10 hours and may work up to 12 hours per day. This position requires driving a 26-ft box truck (or flying to destination as needed). When not on the road, they may be assisting in assigned FTS-related projects, completing documentation, planning, loading/unloading, or maintaining logistics supplies in the warehouse. This is an hourly, non-exempt position requiring out of state travel up to 5 days per week. Overnight lodging, food, and mobile phone stipend are provided while on long-distance transportation routes.
