Building Custodian

The Building Custodian is a full-time employee who is responsible for the general maintenance of the church building. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Regulation and monitoring of all thermostats for building heat. (Minimum heat in the sanctuary will be 60 degrees because of the organ. Christian Education building will be set at 68 degrees.) 2. Inspection of the boiler and heating system for operation and problems. 3. Maintain church sidewalks, clean rain spouts, and maintain shrubbery around the church building. The primary concern of the Building Custodian must always be safety and liability. For this reason, immediate removal of all snow and ice from the walkways, steps, and entrances of the church must be the highest priority, including Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Friday, the Building Custodian will work with the Mount Hope Cemetery workers for snow removal. On Saturday and Sunday, the Cemetery workers will clean the walks of snow prior to worship services or other scheduled events. Calcium, not rock salt, will be used for ice. 4. It is to be understood that a regular maintenance program will cover the use of the building by any church approved group without additional fees. Additional custodial fees will be only for special events requesting custodial service, such as baptismal celebration, reunions, and anniversaries approved by the Board of Trustees following guidelines approved by the Administrative Board. Notification of the need for custodial service will be given by the Kitchen Committee. This may require flexibility in the room by room cleaning schedule based on the Calendar of Events. 5. Trash is to be taken to the curb by the back door every Thursday and sorted as per the recycling regulations. 6. Perform other special tasks as directed by the Trustee representative or Senior Pastor.

Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
