Job Description

Background Hopewell's mission is to improve access to music education in North Minneapolis through affordable, inclusive, and engaging music programs. The nonprofit envisions a thriving music community, where everyone has equal opportunity to nurture and share their talents regardless of race, income, ability, or musical background. Hopewell Music is a growing nonprofit music school committed to making high-quality music education accessible to youth and families in North Minneapolis. As our programs and community impact continue to expand, we are seeking dedicated, community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors. Ideal candidates are engaged, collaborative, and excited to contribute their experience, ideas, and connections to support Hopewell's mission. This is an opportunity to help guide Hopewell's continued growth while strengthening our programs, organizational capacity, and connection to the community. Hopewell's current strategic plan is organized around the following 5 priorities (along with the board committees that address them) : Communicate Hopewell's mission, vision, and values to internal and external stakeholders (community engagement board committee) Increase the effectiveness of organizational infrastructure (governance board committee) Reimagine programs to deepen mission impact (program/evaluation committee) Continue to prioritize inclusivity within Hopewell's programs and organization (diversity, equity & inclusion board committee) Plan for and deliver financial results which sustain mission impact (finance board committee) Desired Board Candidate Skills Are you looking for ways to serve our North Minneapolis community? Join us as a member of the Board of Directors at Hopewell Music Cooperative North! This is a great opportunity to give back to our Northside neighbors, build community connections, learn new skills, and support Hopewell's efforts to improve access to music education in North Minneapolis. Hopewell Music is currently seeking board members (ideally with strong connections to North Minneapolis) who have skills in the following areas: Musicians / Artists Teachers / Educators Youth Workers Community Engagement Marketing and Communications Financial Management Development & Fundraising Strategic Planning Legal / Attorney Human Resources We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply, including: Black, Indigenous and People of Color LGBTQ+ Individuals People with

To ensure the board is representative of Hopewell's constituents and wide array of viewpoints, we are particularly interested in connecting with people who live in, work in, or have a direct connection to North Minneapolis. Board Information Number of members currently: 7 Meeting time and frequency: Bimonthly/quarterly- plus quarterly committee meetings. Committee meetings are determined by committee team member availability.
