Job Description

We are seeking an analytical and technology-savvy Legal Operations Specialist with experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve legal service systems, contract management, compliance processes, and operational efficiency. This role will partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT / Digital and other business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, optimize legal workflows, implement AI-driven solutions, and generate actionable insights through data analysis. The role will also support legal department modernization, workflow standardization, technology adoption, governance, and change management initiatives that improve scalability, consistency, transparency, and measurable business value across legal functions and business entities. As a key function, the Legal Operations Specialist will bring the power of data analytics to the legal team to enable more effective budget planning, proactive financial decisions, and a stronger understanding of capability gaps. The ideal candidate understands how to translate operational pain points into practical transformation roadmaps, implementation plans, governance practices, and executive-ready reporting that support data-driven decision making.
Position Responsibilities may include:
Lead legal operations initiatives by analyzing, standardizing, and optimizing processes, workflows, governance practices, and service delivery models to improve efficiency and consistency across legal teams. Develop and maintain legal department KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, forecasting models, and executive reporting to support data-driven decision making. Support legal department budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, outside counsel oversight, spend analytics, and ROI measurement for legal resources and technology investments. Evaluate, implement, and optimize legal technology solutions, including CLM, matter management, eBilling, document management, eDiscovery, knowledge management, workflow automation, and AI-powered legal tools. Drive AI strategy and adoption within the legal function by identifying use cases, implementing governance standards, measuring outcomes, and promoting responsible AI practices. Partner with Legal, IT, Digital, Finance, Compliance, and business stakeholders to deliver technology implementations, system integrations, process improvements, and transformation initiatives. Design and deliver training, user documentation, change management programs, and adoption strategies to maximize utilization and business value of legal technologies. Analyze legal operational data, spend trends, litigation activity, contract cycle times, and technology adoption metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvements. Support the development and execution of legal transformation roadmaps, including business cases, modernization initiatives, operating models, and continuous improvement programs. Serve as a subject matter expert on legal operations, legal technology, and AI-enabled legal processes, providing leadership-ready recommendations and facilitating cross-functional alignment. Participate in additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of legal operations, process improvement, and organizational transformation principles. Knowledge of AI governance, prompt engineering, adoption strategies, and enterprise generative AI solutions, including Microsoft Copilot. Skill in developing dashboards, reports, KPIs, and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms. Skill in designing governance frameworks, operating procedures, controls, and performance measurement systems. Ability to lead change management initiatives, drive technology adoption, and influence stakeholders across cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience translating business needs into technology solutions. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and Copilot technologies. Strong project management, change management, stakeholder management, executive communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work across multiple business units, business entities, or matrixed stakeholder groups and influence without direct authority.
Experience:
5-8+ years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, legal project management, or a related function. 5-8+ years of hands-on experience implementing and utilizing AI solutions Demonstrated experience with legal technology platforms
Preferred:
familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Prosci, or other continuous improvement or transformation methodologies.
