Job Description

Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Manufacturing / MRP Functional Consultant (Contract) We are seeking a senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Manufacturing/MRP Functional Consultant to support the stabilization and optimization of a recently implemented Business Central manufacturing environment. The core implementation is complete, including Manufacturing, MRP, Planning Worksheet, and Insight Works Shop Floor Insight. The focus is now on validating configuration, resolving planning issues, improving shop floor processes, and ensuring the system accurately reflects real-world manufacturing operations. This is a contract role (approximately 20 hours/week) supporting manufacturing facilities in Brea, CA. Responsibilities
  • Optimize and troubleshoot Business Central Manufacturing, MRP/MPS, and Planning Worksheet configuration.
  • Review and improve production BOMs, routings, SKUs, work centers, machine centers, and planning parameters.
  • Diagnose production planning, reservation, inventory, costing, and manufacturing transaction issues.
  • Validate production output, consumption, inventory movements, and costing accuracy.
  • Improve shop floor reporting and production scan compliance using Insight Works Shop Floor Insight.
  • Support multi-site manufacturing, transfer planning, and inventory replenishment.
  • Test configuration changes in a sandbox environment and document standard operating procedures.
  • Lead process discovery sessions, recommend best practices, train users, and support implementation of process improvements. Required Experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing and stabilizing Dynamics 365 Business Central Manufacturing and MRP.
  • Deep knowledge of Planning Worksheet, Make-to-Order, Make-to-Stock, Lot-for-Lot, safety stock, lead times, reservations, and production planning.
  • Experience with production BOMs, routings, released production orders, costing, inventory transactions, and multi-location manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and planning issues in live production environments.
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing teams to improve operational processes. Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with barcode solutions, Power BI, Business Central reporting, and collaborating with AL developers.
  • Experience stabilizing Business Central in a discrete, multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Insight Works Shop Floor Insight and Warehouse Insight.
