Position Summary This is a full-time position located in Arlington, TX. This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate Sport Management courses, advising students academically and professionally, supporting student recruitment and retention efforts, and contributing to the University's mission of developing Christ-centered leaders for service in the church and society. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to biblical values, academic excellence, student mentorship, and the integration of faith and learning within the discipline of sport management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Teach 12 credits per academic year (four courses per semester). Maintain a minimum of 10 office hours during the semester and one week before the semester begins and one week following the close of the semester. Prepare and deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in both face-to-face and online learning environments. Serve as the primary academic advisor for Sport Management students. Assist in the evaluation and continuous improvement of the Sport Management curriculum. Mentor students academically, professionally, and spiritually. Participate in chapel services, student events, and campus activities. Encourage leadership development, ethical decision-making, and Christian character among students. Support the mission, vision, and values of Arlington Baptist University. Attend faculty meetings, commencement ceremonies, professional development activities, and institutional events. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration. Support accreditation, assessment, and program review processes. Develop relationships with sports organizations, community partners, and internship sites. Assist in recruiting and retaining students for the Sport Management program. Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees as assigned. Assist students with degree planning, course registration, academic progress monitoring, and graduation requirements. Provide guidance regarding internships, career opportunities, and graduate education. Monitor student retention and academic success initiatives. Maintain accurate advising records within Populi, the University's student information system. Develop course syllabi, assessments, and instructional materials consistent with university standards. Evaluate student learning and maintain accurate academic records. Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into classroom instruction. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and provide academic support to students. Qualifications Required Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the mission and doctrinal position of Arlington Baptist University. Master's degree in Sport Management, Business Administration, Athletic Administration, Kinesiology, Recreation Management, or a closely related field. Minimum of three years of professional experience in sport management, athletics administration, sports marketing, recreation, or related field. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Strong organizational, advising, and interpersonal skills. Ability to integrate faith and learning in a Christian higher education environment. Preferred Doctorate in Sport Management, Business, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Prior college-level teaching experience. Experience in academic advising and curriculum development. Professional connections within the sports industry. Experience supervising internships and experiential learning opportunities.
