Duties Collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for property and casualty insurance systems. Develop comprehensive solution architectures leveraging service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, and system design principles to ensure scalable and efficient workflows. Analyze existing IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, to identify opportunities for system improvements and security enhancements. Design, develop, and maintain APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) such as RESTful APIs and Web services to facilitate seamless data exchange across platforms. Conduct system analysis involving ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, database management with SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB for data integration and reporting. Implement system hardening practices, vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence measures, and security protocols such as firewall configurations, VPNs, DNS management, and cloud security policies to safeguard sensitive information. Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Git to ensure rapid development cycles aligned with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) standards. Assist in systems engineering tasks including load balancing with Kubernetes or VMware virtualization environments like ESXi and VMware WDS for optimal system performance. Experience Proven experience as a Business System Analyst or Systems Engineer within the property and casualty insurance sector or related financial services industry. Strong knowledge of solution architecture frameworks, service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices architecture, and system design methodologies. Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, C++, Bash scripting, VBA or related technologies. Familiarity with insurance-specific systems such as Salesforce for customer relationship management or Pegasystems for business process management is highly desirable. Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components including operating systems (Windows/Linux), computer networking concepts (DNS, DHCP), virtualization technologies (VMware/ESXi), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and DevOps practices. Experience working with databases like Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle PL/SQL; knowledge of web services protocols such as SOAP; proficiency in RESTful API development. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices including system hardening, vulnerability management & assessment, threat intelligence analysis, and implementing security controls like firewalls and GPO policies. Familiarity with Agile methodologies for project management along with tools such as Jenkins or Git for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
