JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase products utilizing reordering practices Prepare, issue and maintain purchase orders Plan seasonal inventory requirements, participate in vendor pre-book programs and ensure sufficient product is committed ahead of peak selling periods without creating excessive inventory Analyze price proposals, data, and vendor information to determine cost-effective pricing Help monitor supplier performance through purchase order fill rates, vendor returns and accuracy of invoice costs Assure minimum orders to create efficiencies in reduction of cost for inbound freight. Responsible for item setup, maintenance, pricing and margin management Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of purchasing or category management experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Intermediate to advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Excel. Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
College degree in business, marketing, retail merchandising or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills. Experience managing multiple product categories. Understanding of logistics and transportation including consolidation, freight considerations and extended lead times.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, in-person position, scheduled 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Additional hours and occasional day or overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$28.00 - $31.00 per hour.
