Job Description
Job Type Full-time Description Coordinate the activity of obtaining goods and services at the most favorable price and delivery consistent with quality, quantity, and specifications requirements. Responsible for the planning and releasing of production orders in accordance with customer delivery dates. Manage minimum/maximum levels for inventory items.
- Negotiate, create and manage purchase orders from issuance through payment and purchase order closure.
- Ensure sourcing base and materials comply with all agency requirements and revisions and approved supplier list.
- Coordinate and control all re-order points, min/max for OSP appropriate cells.
- Perform supplier evaluations to ensure adequate price/quality and timely delivery
- Follow up on past due purchase orders
- Expedite deliveries and when necessary, get the appropriate approval for alternate materials/services if delivery is not available when required.
- Provide backup buying/planning for other cells as necessary.
- Release external and internal production orders in accordance with customer delivery dates.
- Interface with all departments as required.
- Review, maintain, and update part status reports to inform customer services of status on customer orders.
- Work in conjunction with production coordinator to properly schedule the work flow through the shop.
- Prioritize jobs for production to meet customer commitment based on material delivery dates.
- Maintain a working relationship with all production personnel and be "hands on".
- Be a cross functional representative to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, improve lead and turn time
- Work on special projects assigned by department manager.
- Maintain the optimization of the MRP systems to drive the correct actions to meet inventory levels within assigned parts.
- Drive Inter-Company Purchase Orders.

Aerospace or Automotive Preferred Education and Experience:
- Syteline experience a plus.
- APICS certified.
