In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing our supply chain and ensuring that our inventory levels meet the demands of our operations. Responsibilities Support purchasing and planning activities for COTS items, contract-manufactured assemblies, build-to-print parts, services, and other production requirements. Review MRP recommendations, bills of material, inventory balances, open orders, lead times, and production demand to identify material requirements. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms. Create purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing strategies with business goals. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels. Assist with production planning and material forecasting by updating material status, reviewing work-order demand, comparing supply to requirements, tracking shortages, and communicating schedule risks. Supports the disposition, return, replacement, and corrective action of nonconforming purchased material with Quality and suppliers. Resolve any discrepancies or issues with finance, receiving and suppliers in a timely manner. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred. 6 months+ of experience in purchasing or planning roles. Basic understanding of purchasing, material planning, inventory, bills of material, and manufacturing processes preferred, with the ability to learn and use MRP/ERP systems. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to read part numbers, specifications, drawings, and bills of material with training and guidance; government-contract or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
