We have been in business for over 30 years and have a diverse customer base. We offer competitive pay, medical, dental, 401 (K), and paid time off. The Buyer/Planner will interface with all departments and will ensure movement of material on both a regular and expedited basis. Activities include planning, placing, and maintaining of purchase orders & Work Orders, managing inventory levels, expediting material when necessary, sourcing of suppliers. This position will cross-train for departmental responsibilities. Requirements and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and reliability. Responsible for open orders, specifications, quality issues and invoice discrepancies. Development of programs to improve supplier quality and dependability, along with internal purchasing procedures. Monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality, value and timely delivery. Responsible for using ERP system to process all approved purchase requisitions, as well as daily material requirement demands. Follow up on deliveries and expedites as needed. Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers. Support new program launches by sourcing capable suppliers. Maintain accurate cost information in all systems. Replenish inventory in a timely manner using MRP Reports. Respond to and resolve all assigned QC issues. Establishes files and controls for all outgoing and incoming correspondence on each assigned order. Work with Manufacturing departments to ensure movement of work orders on schedule Education and Training Planning experience is required, Purchasing experience desirable. Familiarity with machine shop planning and supplies procurement processes Proficient with MS Office products & experience with ERP Systems High level of oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Bachelor Degree in Supply Management or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years related procurement or planning experience. Sage experience a plus.
