Job Description

Career Systems Development Corporation seeks a Purchasing Agent to manage end-to-end purchasing for an educational services environment supporting Job Corps centers. The role sources and evaluates vendors, secures quotes, negotiates pricing and terms, and issues accurate purchase orders to meet program, classroom, and facility needs. The Purchasing Agent monitors budgets, tracks orders, maintains compliant documentation, and ensures adherence to federal, state, and organizational procurement policies while partnering closely with program, finance, and operations staff to support student-centered services. Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and select vendors to support educational and training programs Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules Create, review, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and on time Track orders, resolve delivery or quality issues, and maintain strong vendor relationships Monitor purchasing budgets and ensure cost-effective procurement decisions Maintain complete, auditable purchasing records and documentation Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational procurement policies Collaborate with program, operations, and finance teams to forecast and plan purchasing needs Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and improve purchasing efficiency Support continuous improvement of purchasing processes and tools Required Skills Purchasing Vendor management Contract negotiation Request for Proposal (RFP) management Budget tracking Purchase order processing Data analysis and reporting ERP/procurement software Microsoft Excel Compliance with purchasing policies
