The Procurement Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in San Marcos, CA. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services needed for landscape construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective procurement. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor records, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with project managers and site supervisors to understand material requirements and schedules. The Procurement Specialist will evaluate suppliers, request and compare quotes, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and track orders to resolve delivery or quality issues. The role also involves analyzing procurement data, maintaining compliance with company policies, and supporting continuous improvement of purchasing processes. Qualifications Strong procurement skills, including experience managing purchasing activities and working with construction or landscape materials. This is a requirement for this role. Ability to prepare and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with supervisors and foremen. Experience with supplier evaluation, including assessing reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Proficiency in contract negotiation, with the ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining positive vendor relationships. Solid analytical skills to review pricing, compare quotes, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Knowledge of basic construction or landscape project workflows and material requirements is a requirement. Comfort and proficiency in using procurement or ERP software, spreadsheets, and other digital tools to manage data and reports. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, field teams, and suppliers. Experience in the Landscape Industry is a requirement for this role.
