•We're looking for an experienced purchasing professional with a background in electrical construction to support material acquisition across active projects. This role is responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, working with suppliers, and helping ensure materials are available when and where they're needed while maintaining appropriate cost and quality controls. Key Responsibilities Coordinate day-to-day purchasing activities for construction projects, from identifying material needs through order placement and delivery. Source electrical materials, equipment, and supplies from qualified vendors while following established purchasing practices. Prepare and release purchase orders based on project scope, material requirements, quantities, specifications, and requested delivery dates. Work with the Purchasing Manager to review, maintain, and expand the company's preferred supplier network. Gather material lists, quantity information, BOMs, take-offs, and requisitions from project managers and field supervision. Request, compare, and evaluate supplier pricing to support competitive and cost-conscious purchasing decisions. Coordinate with vendors regarding delivery timing, staging, and storage requirements to support project schedules and minimize unnecessary costs. Review orders carefully for accuracy, including quantities, product descriptions, specifications, pricing, and expected delivery dates. Partner with the logistics team to track outstanding materials and resolve shortages, backorders, shipping delays, or other supply issues. Keep purchasing documentation organized and current, including orders, supplier information, agreements, quotes, and related correspondence. Communicate regularly with field personnel, project management, accounting, and other internal teams to ensure purchasing activity aligns with project requirements. Assist with initiatives designed to improve procurement workflows, supplier performance, purchasing efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness. Conduct purchasing activities in accordance with company procedures, ethical expectations, and applicable internal controls. Maintain dependable attendance, punctuality, and consistent follow-through. Qualifications 3-5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within the electrical construction industry. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; advanced comfort working with spreadsheets is important. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with vendor representatives and supplier contacts. Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple purchasing requirements simultaneously. Goal-oriented approach with an emphasis on timely execution, accuracy, and cost-conscious decision-making. Comfortable communicating with both field and office personnel to resolve material and purchasing issues. Successful completion of required background screening and drug testing. Work Location & Schedule The position may be based out of either of the company's two office locations in: North Santa Ana or Northridge Available schedules include: 6:00 AM-3:00 PM 7:00 AM-4:00 PM 8:00 AM-5:00 PM All schedules include a one-hour lunch period.
