Job Description

As Buyer at Sensient Agricultural Ingredients, you will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by ensuring the right materials, equipment, and services are available at the right time. In this role, you will balance day-to-day purchasing needs with longer term planning, helping maintain strong service levels while supporting quality and cost goals. This position is based on site in a professional office environment with periodic exposure to laboratory and manufacturing plant settings. What you'll do: Secure raw materials, equipment, and services needed to support plant operations Negotiate complex contracts to achieve strong service, quality, and cost outcomes Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements, including managing supplier exceptions and audits Integrate materials planning with sales and operations planning to support efficient procurement activities Coordinate inventory targets and support cash cycle objectives related to raw materials Analyze current processes, recommend improvements, and implement changes Communicate updates on raw material costs and purchasing activities to cross functional teams and leadership What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience Several years of purchasing or procurement experience in a professional setting Knowledge of accounting, inventory control, and supply chain processes Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams Analytical thinking and a results driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement What you'll get: Opportunity to contribute to both strategic and day-to-day procurement activities Exposure to cross functional teams including finance, supply chain, engineering, and quality Involvement in process improvement and supplier development initiatives A collaborative environment that supports professional growth and development The ability to make a direct impact on operational performance and cost management Experience working in both office and plant environments to broaden your perspective
