Bloomfield, CT Job Details 7 hours ago Qualifications Spreadsheets ERP systems Data reporting MRP Negotiating purchasing contracts Full Job Description The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and planning aviation materials, components, and services to support production, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost control while maintaining compliance with aviation quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
Source, negotiate, and purchaseaircraftparts, materials, tooling, and services. Issue purchase orders, track order status, and ensure on-time delivery. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and leadtimesto support cost reduction initiatives. Maintainappropriate safetystockto support operational needs while minimizing excess inventory. Coordinate closely with production, maintenance, and operations teams to align material availability. Monitor inventory turns, shortages, and obsolescence risks. Standardize shipping carriers and shipping methods to maximize customer service while minimizingcost. Ensure allpurchasedmaterials meet FAA, EASA, and company quality standards. Maintainaccuratepurchasing and inventory data within ERP systems. Identifyopportunities for process improvements, supplier consolidation, and cost savings. Support audits and regulatory inspections as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Aviation Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain, preferably within aviation, aerospace, or MRO environments. Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
