JOB SUMMARY
This is an entry level position for someone who is eager to learn and grow in all areas of the procurement process. Key to facilitating the flow of raw material to conform with production schedules, the Junior Buyer communicates with internal stakeholders (purchasing, program management, stockroom/receiving) and material vendors to eliminate difficulties and delays. This role may also support the quote process to expedite outstanding material quote items as directed by management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors and reports on the status of both proposed and staged jobs to ensure functions of picking and releasing jobs to the manufacturing floor. Communicates with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status. Provides weekly and monthly reports such as vendor on time delivery and quality. Directs receiving to prioritize inbound material. Supplies list and reports of jobs to be released to stockroom department. Maintains/updates vendors expected ship dates in the ERP system and communicates changes to Program Management in a timely manner. Works with facilities and manufacturing to procure shop supplies and small tools. Willing and able to assist on special projects as needed.
