Job description Procurement Specialist An established South Florida company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join its operations team. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a stable organization offering a strong compensation and benefits package.

Salary:
Approximately $70,000 per year, with final compensation determined based on experience and qualifications
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Procurement Specialist will support the purchasing and sourcing of a broad range of materials, products, supplies, and services required for company operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Source and evaluate suppliers, products, materials, and services Prepare, request, review, and compare vendor quotations Analyze pricing, availability, lead times, quality, and delivery terms Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers Issue and coordinate purchasing activities according to operational requirements Maintain productive and professional relationships with vendors Help ensure adequate availability of materials while controlling purchasing costs Identify alternative suppliers and sourcing opportunities when appropriate Coordinate with internal departments regarding purchasing requirements and delivery schedules Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives Follow established company procedures, quality standards, safety practices, sanitation requirements, and workplace policies Perform other purchasing and operational support duties as required The position operates within a regulated manufacturing and distribution environment and requires compliance with applicable quality, workplace safety, and regulatory standards, including relevant ISO, FDA, GMP, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should possess a combination of education and relevant purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply-chain experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent post-secondary education; or Three to five years of relevant purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or related experience; or An equivalent combination of education and professional experience Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) designation is preferred Supply management or procurement certification is considered an asset
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong purchasing, sourcing, vendor-management, and negotiation skills Ability to review and compare quotations, pricing, terms, and supplier proposals Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to read and understand operating procedures, safety guidelines, technical instructions, and company policies Ability to prepare routine reports, correspondence, and purchasing documentation Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively with vendors, internal departments, and management Comfortable performing calculations involving pricing, discounts, percentages, commissions, quantities, measurements, weights, and volumes Familiarity with both U.S. Standard and Metric measurements Ability to interpret and carry out written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English Spanish-language skills are considered an asset but are not required.
