THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows Location Job ID 50 S. Military Trail, WPB 36204 Assists in the development and management of a comprehensive procurement program for the County. Assists County departments with planning for upcoming procurements to avoid gaps in services, e.g., expired contracts/bids. Assists Procurement leadership in the development and management of a Countywide strategic sourcing program, including post-contract award monitoring activities. Assists Procurement staff in benchmarking additional sourcing opportunities, including but not limited to piggyback and/or cooperative contracts. Assists in the management of the complete solicitation processes related to Invitations for Bids (IFBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Submittals (RFSs), and other solicitation documents. Establishes multi-year purchasing contracts for goods and services. Reviews requisitions and contracts for compliance with established policies and procedures. Performs market studies; reviews vendor spending data to make recommendations to County departments regarding upcoming solicitations. Work requires continuous communication with vendors and departmental officials regarding purchasing issues and shipping, receiving, and invoicing problems and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following : An Associate's Degree or minimum of 60 college credits in Business/Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Agent, OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Agent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, and Experience using automated financial systems (e.g., Advantage).
