About the Role E.J. Basler Co. is a leading manufacturer dedicated to delivering quality products and exceptional service. We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Schiller Park, IL. This role is responsible for supporting purchasing operations, maintaining supplier relationships, coordinating material availability, and ensuring accurate purchasing documentation to support production requirements. What You'll Do Create and process purchase orders in the Epicor system. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers regarding order status and delivery schedules. Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and product availability. Expedite critical orders to support production requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and documentation. Verify order acknowledgments and ensure purchase order details are accurate. Communicate delivery updates and material shortages to internal departments. Work with the Receiving Department to resolve shipment discrepancies and damaged goods. Assist with supplier performance tracking and vendor communication. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and replenishment needs. Process purchase requisitions and ensure required approvals are obtained. Assist with sourcing activities and gathering supplier quotations. Generate purchasing reports and maintain purchasing metrics. Comply with company quality, environmental, safety, and ethical standards. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of purchasing, procurement, customer service, inventory control, or administrative experience preferred. Manufacturing environment experience preferred. Proficiency in ERP systems such as Epicor preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills. Ability to maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
