A Procurement or Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and purchasing the goods or services required by an organization, especially tracking overall spend and improving bidding processes. Responsible for maintaining supplier relationships. May also be responsible growing supplier relationships with new and/or existing suppliers.
Working as a member of the Supply Chain team, the Sourcing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services required for the production of Barletta s high-quality pontoon boats. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers while negotiating favorable terms to optimize the supply chain. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers for various materials, components, and services required in pontoon boat manufacturing. Assess supplier capabilities, performance history, financial stability, and adherence to quality standards.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to draft and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Cost Optimization:
Work proactively to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or delivery timelines. Conduct regular cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitiveness in the market.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Foster strong and collaborative relationships with key suppliers to enhance communication, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Supply Chain Coordination:
Collaborate with production planning, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components. Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses.
Market Research:
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to make informed sourcing decisions. Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and technologies that align with the company's strategic objectives.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as geopolitical, economic, or logistical challenges. Develop contingency plans to address disruptions and ensure continuity in the supply of critical materials. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the marine or manufacturing industry. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships. Analytical mindset with proficiency in cost analysis and market research. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards. Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
