Purchasing Agent Department:
Logistics Reports To:
Purchasing Manager Position Summary The Purchasing Agent plays an important role in supporting efficient procurement and logistics operations. This position is responsible for accurately processing product orders, reviewing supplier acknowledgments, creating purchase orders, tracking shipments, and following up on outstanding orders. The Purchasing Agent works closely with project management and other internal teams to coordinate purchasing activities with production schedules and project deadlines. This position also supports accurate recordkeeping and the continued improvement of internal procurement processes and systems. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter product orders using manufacturers' online ordering systems. Review supplier order acknowledgments and identify discrepancies in quantities, pricing, delivery dates, or other order details. Create and process purchase orders based on approved requisitions and purchase requests. Track shipments and follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding or delayed orders. Collaborate with Project Managers to align purchasing activities with production schedules and project timelines. Maintain accurate purchasing, order, and shipment records within the organization's procurement and inventory management system. Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to help ensure timely delivery and appropriate inventory levels. Assist with the implementation and improvement of internal systems and processes related to purchasing and procurement. Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental and organizational needs. Qualifications & Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar business software. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous purchasing or procurement experience preferred. Additional Requirements This position does not have supervisory responsibilities or require travel. The role primarily involves working at a desk and computer for extended periods and may occasionally require lifting up to 15 pounds.
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
