Buyer Essential Job Duties:

Participates in the activities in the procurement of Hospital supplies, taking into consideration identified priorities of group purchase contracts, vendors, price, and need. Consults with the System Director of Materials Management, Purchasing Manager, and the Storeroom Manager regarding activities of the department. Assesses priorities regarding procurement activities. Purchases designated or assigned materials, supplies, and equipment for health system accurately and timely. Recognizes the importance of maintaining adequate stock levels for supplies that have been designated or assigned. Education, Training & Experience Associate's degree in business or related field preferred. Healthcare purchasing experience is preferred. Basic accounting knowledge required. Knowledge of computer inventory systems. Health care operations experience also helpful. Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people. Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communication. Must have exceptional follow-up skills for all sales and business relationships. Flexible in work schedule, as required.
