Job Description Buyer Salary Range:
$65,000 - $85,000 Boyd Corporation - Woburn, MA Boyd Corporation is a leading provider of advanced manufacturing solutions serving the aerospace and defense markets. Our facility in Woburn, Massachusetts specializes in complex metal components and assemblies where quality, precision, and delivery performance are critical. We are seeking a motivated Buyer to support our procurement and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for supporting purchasing activities that ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services required for production. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, internal planning teams, and operations to maintain material availability while supporting Boyd's commitment to quality and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Issue and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and outside processing services. Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery and follow up on late or incomplete shipments. Coordinate with planning, engineering, and production teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules. Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the company's ERP system (Oracle or similar). Support supplier quote requests, cost comparisons, and sourcing initiatives. Track and expedite critical orders to minimize production disruptions. Assist with supplier onboarding, documentation, and compliance requirements common to aerospace manufacturing. Help identify opportunities for cost savings, lead time reduction, VMI, and supplier performance improvement. Maintain organized records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and pricing agreements. Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies by coordinating with Accounts Payable and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field Supply Chain (strongly desired). 1-4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations is a must. Experience working in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or defense preferred). Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar. Strong organizational skills and efficiency in MS Excel Effective communication skills when working with suppliers and internal teams. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with aerospace manufacturing or regulated industries. Understanding of purchase order management, supplier lead times, and inventory planning. Exposure to outside processing or contract manufacturing suppliers.
