Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily procurement activities, coordinating with vendors and internal departments, and ensuring the timely and accurate receipt of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with spreadsheets, and excellent communication abilities to facilitate smooth purchasing operations and inventory management. Duties Place purchases from various vendors on a daily basis to meet operational needs. Submit Special Price Authorization requests to the mill and monitor responses to ensure prompt approval. Communicate regularly with vendors to coordinate order details, delivery schedules, and resolve any issues that arise. Collaborate with all departments to verify incoming freight arrives on time, matches the correct styles and sizes, and has accurate pricing. Perform stock checks for customer service representatives and sales staff to maintain optimal inventory levels. Maintain accurate stocking levels through diligent inventory management practices. Work closely with mill representatives and mill expeditors to improve production dates and streamline supply chain processes. Utilize spreadsheets for tracking orders, inventory levels, and vendor communications to ensure data accuracy and efficient workflow. Preferred Qualifications Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred. Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills for effective vendor negotiation and interdepartmental coordination. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices. Ability to work collaboratively with vendors, production teams, and internal departments to meet organizational goals. Pay:
$16.50 - $20.50 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
