_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Midland, Michigan Purchasing 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Regular Full-Time Day Shift Purchasing 47636 Job Description Summary The person in this position is responsible for supporting MyMichigan�s procurement and standardization initiatives to optimize purchasing efficiency and cost savings across the organization. This role focuses on driving product conversion projects, standardization efforts, and cost-effective purchasing strategies. The individual will analyze product data, collaborate with internal stakeholders (including clinical departments and leadership), and assist with vendor negotiations to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, the Coordinator will monitor purchasing performance metrics and support the Purchasing team in meeting operational objectives. Responsibilities (30%)
  • Facilitates product standardization initiatives across the organization, ensuring the seamless integration of standardized purchasing processes that lead to reduced expenditures and improved clinical and operational outcomes. Works closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective purchasing strategies. (30%)
  • Supports purchasing conversion processes by identifying and executing cost-saving measures, collaborating with internal stakeholders and vendors, and maximizing Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) returns on investment. (20%)
  • Prepares and analyzes cost reports, developing business cases for new products and services. Ensures the selection of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective products that meet organizational needs while aligning with MyMichigan Health�s procurement goals. (10%)
  • Acts as a resource for vendor management, building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, GPO representatives, and clinical departments to ensure the successful achievement of purchasing goals. Provides support and guidance in vendor negotiations, contract management, and product selection. (10%)
  • Supports clinical and business teams by optimizing product utilization through data analysis, market research, and clinical insights.
Recommends best practices and supports product selection to improve operational efficiency and drive cost-effective decisions specific to MyMichigan Health.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS
2+ years in supply chain or related business support activities experience preferred. MyMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Windows. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
